Primary Responsibilities:

The Territory Sales Associate will get exposure to cross-functional teams and learn processes to support the Senior Territory Sales Manager. You will learn fundamentals in growing a profitable base and vertical sales, as well as new entity business, within an assigned geographic territory. As with all positions at KeHE, it is expected that all actions of the Territory Sales Associate, Independent Grocery will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Essential Functions:

You will partner with the Sr. TSM in identifying opportunities to increase customer sales through improvement of product mix, identifying and follow up on new business development opportunities to assure our customers have the optimal product for their stores.
Assist Sr. TSM in the education of our customers on items and categories to keep them on trend.
Acquire knowledge of proper budgeting and management of sales, credits, expenses, merchandising hours, drop size, and extra performance activities.
Assist KeHE Sr. TSM in the development and execution of company sales and marketing programs for the customer. This includes assuring accurate and timely development, release, and execution of planograms and category responsibilities; assuring that planograms are designed to achieve customer satisfaction by market area; maximizing profitable sales; utilizing space efficiently, providing adequate inventory allocation to meet normal volume.
Support with the communications among vendors, brokers, and company cross functional groups to assure customer account satisfaction. This includes providing expert knowledge of category trends, communicating findings to all individuals involved, including Category Managers, Sales Solutions Managers and Specialists.
The Sr. TSM will teach how to coordinate the acquisition of vendors funds to support the implementation of merchandising activities including but not limited to planograms, new items, ads, TPRs, BTSTs, and grand openings.
Monitor competitor actions in the marketplace and recommend paths forward to address these activities.
Will monitoring all accounts receivables.
Assist Sr. TSM in executing AOMs, cost changes, item maintenance, and other information regarding sales and marketing activities.
Provide guidance on forecasting demand on new and promotional items.
Build strong relationship with customers and work to understand their business plans.
Attend food shows and tabletops and capture extra performance dollars for the account on a weekly basis to include additional promos, demos, ads, and other vehicles to drive base business.
Execute ISS duties at one key store in the customer group.
Your development will provide an opportunity to apply for future open Territory Sales Manager positions.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

Prefer 1-3 years of experience in grocery sales.
Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of sales including strategy, planning, and impeccable follow up a plus.
Excellent presentation skills including listening and asking impactful questions.
Working knowledge of and literacy in computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%. Some overnight travel required.
Demonstrated ability to proactively recognize and pursue business opportunities.
Ability to make solid business decisions and champion causes as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication with people at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a variety of tasks, focusing on those with the highest business impact, including anticipating problems and taking appropriate preventive action to avoid crises whenever possible.
Demonstrated proficiency in cross functional leadership skills.
Team player who links their activities to company objectives, dedication to continuous improvement, and removes obstacles leading to success.
