We are seeking a highly motivated and tech savvy individual that thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. This role is part of our Marketing team and reports to our VP of Marketing through our Business Development Manager. The individual in this position is one of the first touch points for prospects and will set the tone for the sales cycle by setting appointments for Enterprise Sales Representatives. Given a set of target accounts and verticals, the SDR will use a combination of research, personalized cold emails, and cold calls to connect with specified personas within targeted accounts and verticals. The SDR will assure a firm handoff to an Enterprise Sales team member to achieve his or her monthly opportunity quota. Responsibilities: Research targeted personas within Enterprise sales teams Top Accounts to ensure effective conversation Send personalized emails and make outbound calls to targeted prospects Achieve or exceed goal for marketing qualified lead quota (in both quantity and quality) and ensure proper handoff to Sales to assist in growing the revenue of the company Proactively learn Backstop Solutions Group products, competitor products, and industry Work closely with leadership top ensure efficient process, consistent improvement is encouraged Offer pertinent resources (white papers, e-books, infographics, relevant blog articles) to prospects in an attempt to foster a relationship and increase education in the early stages of the buying process Maintain strong relationships with sales team through clear communication and follow-up Support various marketing activities to contribute to strategic efforts Leverage the Backstop CRM system and other relevant tools such as LinkedIn and Hubspot to keep track of targeted contacts and manage daily activities Within 1 month, you will Complete new hire training and gain a broader understanding of the institutional investment industry and how Backstop Solutions adds value to our clients Partner with your Manager to define key success metrics for your role Acclimate yourself with the mission of the marketing and sales team by attending team meetings and spending time with members of the marketing and sales team Meet with your assigned Sales Reps and establish expectations of your partnership Begin connecting with prospective clients to build pipeline through a variety of methods Begin developing familiarity with our business, platform, and applications Learn key differentiators, develop, and personalize segment-specific value propositions. Learn existing customer sales process by shadowing peers and working closely with your Manager and Marketing
Within 3 months, you will Consistently meet and exceed your activity and MQL goals Conduct active research leveraging all available tools and data sources to understand your clients and become a trusted advisor Identify and contact prospective clients to build pipeline through a variety of methods including, but not limited to cold-calling, emailing, and mass email campaigns. Making a minimum number of quality outbound calls and personalized emails per day Create a professional and engaging first impression with our prospects and customers. Create, maintain and update database of prospects with complete information Qualify outbound opportunities and collaborate with Account Executives for a smooth customer experience
Within 6 months, you will Have mastered the use cases of successful customers Have a clear understanding of the sales and marketing organization Bring new ideas on how to improve the current sales process and lead generation efforts Consistently meet and exceed your opportunity quota Consistently reflect on your own skill and gaps along with your Manager to identify personal and professional coaching area Have established strong partnerships with your assigned Sales Reps receiving guidance and mentorship and delivering consistent results
Within 12 months, you will Have mastered the necessary skills needed to uncover opportunity inside an assigned territory Be a leader on the team by sharing best practices and ways that you have been successful Consistently exceed opportunity goals Have positioned yourself to the next stage of your career with Backstop Solutions

Required Experience:

Bachelors degree 2+ years of proven success in sales or marketing, ideally in SaaS Ability to thrive in a metrics-driven sales environment A hunter personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential Highly coachable and eager to learn and grow in your career Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Self-starter with a high degree of accountability and work ethic Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and electronic means to build rapport with potential clients and internal team Willingness and ability to work under pressure Proficient or willingness to become proficient with computer and programs involved with contacting customers Ability to adjust to a rapidly changing work environment. Maintain a positive attitude and a team player Knowledge of the hedge fund industry and or investment analytical tools is ideal but not required Background in finance is ideal but not required Experience with prospecting tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Hubspot), and research of buying groups and target personas within target companies
