My role exists to:
This role is responsible for developing and driving catchment-first, curated ranges and space (Macro/Micro) strategies for our eCom fulfilment store network to ensure a convenient shopping experience that drives sustainable sales growth and profit in line with the Category Development Schedule (CDS) and Quarterly Delivery Cycle (QDC) process.

integrated within the B2C eCommerce Tribe to lead our Digital Range & Space squad. Your role is to support, engage and partner cross-functionally across WooliesX and the broader Group.

About you:
To be successful in this role, you must be methodical, highly numerate and a disciplined operator who can manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders. You will understand the principles of Range & Assortment, Category Management and Space Management. You are proactive and able to identify gaps and convert these into opportunities and use commercial acumen to drive smart growth decisions. You maintain calm under pressure and have the ability to challenge the status quo and existing assumptions in order to promote innovative thinking and new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and prioritise opportunities that enable smart growth that is delivered through our Range and Space activities

Develop the catchment-first Range & CFC Merchandising strategy in line with the Category Development Schedule (CDS)

Manage and Track Ranging and Planogram compliance across all CFCs

Continuous improvement of our Range Visibility across the CFCs to take smart growth actions

WX Internal business partner for CFCs

Support and work in line with our Agile Structure

Team development and coaching

Key Activities:
Work with WX and Woolies Group stakeholders to identify actionable initiatives that will enable smart growth through range and space decisions

Managing the quarterly cycle to deliver the above initiatives

Drive efficiencies in curating range where appropriate to optimise CFC ranges

Partner with Digital Merchandising to develop the Online-Only range strategy for CFCs based on catchment-zone customer requirements for our B2C and B2B business units

Champion and embed merchandising guidelines appropriate for CFCs that improve availability, reduce OOS and improve ease of picking/pick time.

Ensure all planograms are released and executed OTIF across all CFCs

Partner with CFCs to optimise and tailor noncompliant planograms, right for Customer and right for Team (Personal Shoppers)

Enhance our POG framework to continuously improve our efficiency

Track and report on Range Visibility opportunities and identify the tactics to execute e.g. OOS, missing images

Work directly with teams to optimise and drive initiatives based on our Range Visibility

Work with Digital Merchandising to drive the right actions with the Commercial team

Ensure timely communication of all layout changes with CFC teams-

Centralised point of contact/escalation for CFC stores for Trading requests e.g. job buys, product activations. online status, reporting and data analysis

Work cross-functionally as a hatted Product Owner to engage across Tribes and partnering cross-functionally across WooliesX

Build relationships and networks to generate understanding, support and excitement for driving growth and influencing the best outcomes across the CFCs

Support the Chapter Lead to develop and provide on-the-job coaching for all Digital Range & Space Specialists

Enhance the level of Range & Space Specialist capability

Provide feedback and support in succession planning, personal development and capability building

The Qualifications, Work Experience and Technical Requirements I need for this position are:

Essential:
5yrs+ cross-functional buying/trading & merchandising experience (FMCG, Retailer or Supplier)

Deep understanding of category management, range and space capabilities (Macro & Micro), activation, retail operations, digital, eCommerce and convenience propositions is an advantage

Experience managing resources

Strong stakeholder management

Passion for online retail, eCommerce or technology

Strong written and oral skills

Proven track record of consistent delivery against trading KPIs

Ability to prioritise and work well in a pressured situations

Desirable:
Team and people development & leadership experience

Business degree/qualification preferred

Retail/Supplier experience is an advantage

Digital/eCommerce experience is an advantage

Experience using Blue Yonder space planning software (or equivalent)

Track record of managing and delivering change as well as results

Demonstrated ability to influence, establish and maintain strong relationships

Able to demonstrate vertical and horizontal leadership ability, preferably in an agile/matrix operating model
