Sitting within the Go To Market (GTM/B2B Sales) Operations team the STP plays a key role in achieving our GTM ambitions as we look to increase the agility of the function to deliver customer value, faster.
Focusing on transformation and change in areas including Client experience, retention & growth, Sales performance, and Organisation design & efficiency, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to help drive and govern this exciting transformation.
You will be responsible for:
Project Planning & Management
Managing end-to-end delivery of projects according to agreed time/budget/scope/quality/change control criteria
Developing and managing accurate project plans, schedules and budgets
Controlling issues, risks, dependencies and changes in scope, ensuring timely intervention and communication to stakeholders
Actively driving the project to completion with the outcome or business benefits in mind
Forecasting, tracking and reporting project’s attainment of expected benefits to the business
Conducting regular reviews of project outcomes with senior stakeholders during and after the delivery has been completed
Working collaboratively with all project stakeholders and removing blockers to progress
Providing stakeholders with timely reporting on project performance and where decision making is required, providing all information needed to enable well-informed decision making
Offering input and/or recommendations into decision making with stakeholders
Developing effective communication plan for all stakeholders
Effectively and accurately escalating and communicating issues as appropriate
The GTM Senior Project Manager role is a varied one with a host of different activities taking place each week. Although no two days are the same, a “day in the life” could look like this:
You start the day meeting your project sponsors and key stakeholders to share and track progress and influence decision making.
You’ve secured sign off, so as owner of project design, planning and execution you’ll then spend time updating your project plan & schedule as appropriate, ensuring any risks or issues are understood, communicated and where possible mitigated/accepted.
There’s something you’re not quite sure about so you’ve booked a call to speak to a subject matter expert who can provide additional context to help you build an accurate timeline and budget for one of your projects workstreams.
Following that call you’re then chairing another meeting to co-ordinate activities and inter-dependencies across two teams, who will need to work together throughout the project.
One of your workstreams is at risk of falling behind schedule, so you’ve agreed to support. You analyse and manipulate a dataset, create a summary, and share the findings, that should bring it back on track.
You end your day offering support to a junior team member who wants to learn from your experiences in project management and has asked for some guidance around skills they can enhance to support their career plan.
We’re looking for someone with a strong delivery background with highly developed project management skills, within the context of B2B commercial transformation. Alongside standard project governance, you will take a strong personal interest and accountability in delivering each project to a high standard, contributing to decision making and task execution where necessary.
You will have experience delivering dynamic change within a customer focused business environment i.e. Go To Market or Sales function and a sound understanding of that area of an organisation. You excel working collaboratively and are confident managing stakeholders across all levels, drawing on a range of techniques to secure buy in and engagement.
You feel comfortable managing one large project or several smaller ones and completing projects to auditable standards following governance/processes tailored to meet specific project needs.
Ideally you should have experience of both AGILE project management (within a B2B commercial organisation) and traditional project management (i.e. Prince 2) ways of working. However, everyone has different experience, so please don’t rule yourself out if you cannot ‘tick’ all of the qualities mentioned above. Talk to us about the experience that you do have.
